Report Components
The Report Components section is designed to give inspectors flexible options to tailor the design and presentation of their reports.
Currently, there are two available components:
Featured Image
Ratings
Later this month, we plan to introduce:
Inspection Details
Report Layouts
In future phases of the rollout, additional customization options will include:
Font Customization
Summary Customization
(See the rollout plan for full details and timing.)
Featured Image
The Featured Image defines the visual header of the interactive report and creates the first impression for clients. Inspectors can select one layout at a time, and updates are reflected instantly in Live Preview.
A. Default Image – Current Layout
This layout features a single image displayed prominently at the top of the report. The inspection date and property address appear beneath the image, alongside a View Map option.
It’s ideal for inspectors who prefer a clean, professional cover style that highlights a single property photo without any text overlay. This layout works especially well for traditional reporting styles or when the property image should remain completely unobstructed.
As this design most closely matches the existing report format, it is labeled Default Image.
B. Full-Width Image
This layout displays a single image stretched edge to edge across the full width of the report. The inspection date and property address are overlaid directly on the image, creating a bold, modern presentation.
It is best suited for inspectors who prefer a more design-forward report style, where strong visuals and branding are prioritized while still keeping key property details prominent.
To achieve the full-width format, the system centers the image and adjusts it to fit the required aspect ratio. Because of this, portrait-oriented photos may not display optimally and could appear cropped or reformatted.
C. Image Gallery (Multi-Image Header)
This layout features multiple images displayed in a structured grid format. The primary cover image is shown prominently, with additional report images presented in a gallery view.
Inspection details, including the date, property address, inspector and client names, and key property metrics (PT Only), appear above the image gallery for clear visibility.
This option is ideal for inspectors who want to highlight multiple areas of the property upfront and deliver a visually rich, engaging report presentation.
D. No Image
This layout removes the featured image entirely and begins the report with property and inspection details. It is best for inspectors who prefer a minimal, text-first report or want faster-loading, documentation-focused outputs without visual emphasis.
Ratings
Ratings help communicate the severity and condition of inspection findings, such as Safety, Requires Attention, Recommendation, Maintenance, and Inspected.
The Report Designer allows inspectors to customize how rating definitions are displayed, as well as how rating overview counts are presented within the report.
We are launching with two rating styles initially. Additional styles are already planned, and we anticipate this ratings library will continue to grow over time.
The Ratings configuration includes the following areas:
Rating Definitions Layout Styles
Overview toggle
Style 1 – Color Blocks
In this style, ratings are displayed in a single-column layout. Each rating icon appears within a colored block, with the title and description shown beside it.
This option is best suited for inspectors who prefer a traditional, documentation-focused presentation that keeps definitions structured and easy to scan. It most closely resembles the current ratings design.
When the Overview toggle is enabled, rating counts appear at the top of the section as color-coded square boxes, matching the corresponding rating colors.
Style 2 – Color Flags
In this style, ratings are displayed as badges with the rating definition below. The icon and title appear together at the top, with the description positioned beneath.
This layout offers a more visual, modern presentation and is ideal for client-friendly reports designed for quick readability.
When the Overview toggle is enabled, rating counts are embedded directly within the colored rating bars alongside the rating name, creating a streamlined, dashboard-like summary experience.
Other Functions: Save / Preview / Publish
Report Designer provides a streamlined workflow that allows inspectors to manage, review, and apply report styling updates before they go live.
Save
Saves the current report design configuration without publishing it. This allows inspectors to continue refining their design while keeping existing live reports unchanged.
Preview
Displays the report in a full-width view by closing the side navigation and removing preview margins. This enables inspectors to experience the report exactly as clients would see it in a browser.
Publish
Finalizes and applies the updated design to all unpublished and newly generated interactive reports moving forward.
