Getting started

The Templates section allows you to create, edit, download, and publish inspection templates. To access it, click the Templates button in the portal navigation.

Creating a new template

New templates can be created with ease. To do so, follow the instructions below:

  1. From the Templates screen, click on the green Add new + button in the top-right of the screen

  2. A new window will pop up asking for details about the new template being created

    • To create a template from scratch, the Based On option should be set to Blank Template

    • A type of inspection for the template can be selected from the list of available options

    • The Name of the template is used to easily identify it. i.e. House with pool

    • A Report Title can be used which is included with PDF reports

    • Finally, a Description can be provided to describe the template for easier identification

  3. Once finished click the green Create button

Once a new template has been created you'll be greeted by the template editor screen. This is where new categories, lines, descriptions, comments, and more can be added to a template.

By default, an Inspection Details section is included. The section includes details of the inspection such as who was present and what type of property was inspected.

Editing an existing template

Editing an existing template is as easy as finding it within your list of templates and opening it. This is done by clicking the Edit icon under the Actions column.

If you choose to edit a template that has already been published for use, a message will pop up to tell you that the portal is making a copy of it. This way, the original template stays the same and you can make changes to the copy.

Deleting a template

To delete a template find it within your list of templates and click the Delete button in the Actions column.

Confirm your choice and the template will be deleted.
