Line Level Ratings - How To Guide

Line-Level Ratings enhance report flexibility by allowing inspectors to assign a rating to an individual line without requiring a comment. This streamlines the reporting process, particularly for simple items that don’t need additional explanation.

Line-level ratings are intended to quickly indicate the condition of an item at the line level, helping inspectors mark whether no issues are present or if a concern has been identified. However, it is important to understand that line items themselves do not contain written content. Because of this, a rating alone will not appear in the report summary. If you need a noted issue to be included in the summary section, you must also add a written comment to that line. In short, ratings help classify the condition, but comments are required for any findings to display in the summary.

Key Benefits

  • Reduces time spent on repetitive or non-critical entries

  • Supports faster workflows during inspections

  • Keeps reports concise and focused for clients

  • Honors inspector discretion, comments are optional, not enforced

How It Works

1. Access Line-Level Ratings

  • Open the Lines List screen within your report.

  • For each line item, you’ll see a Rating option placed between the Description and the Comments field.

2. Select a Rating

  • Click the rating field for the line.

  • A modal will open displaying all ratings available for that template.

  • Select one or more ratings as needed.

  • Close the modal to save your selection.

3. View Selected Ratings

  • The first selected rating will appear directly in the line-level rating field.

  • If multiple ratings are selected, the additional ratings will appear in the Summary column, just below the line fields.

4. Edit or Clear Ratings

  • Reopen the rating modal anytime to update selections.

  • Use the Clear Rating option to remove all selected ratings from that line.

5. Ratings in Line Details

  • When viewing a line’s Details page, you’ll see a Rating section placed just after the Description.

  • This uses the same rating modal for selection.

6. Line Level Ratings in the Report

  • Line-level ratings appear in the same row and to the left of the line name.
