Getting started

Apple has recently introduced HEIC as it's new default image format, HEIC lets you capture photos with smaller file sizes compared to the traditional JPEG format. This means more pictures on your device without sacrificing quality.

However, the HEIC format is still relatively new and not all devices or software can open it yet. That includes older iPhones, Macs, and other Apple devices not running up to date software, along with older versions of Palmtech.

Set your Apple device to take photos in JPEG/JPG instead of HEIC:

In order to revert to the most commonly used image format, follow these steps in your iOS device(s):

  1. Open Settings

  2. Tap Camera

  3. Tap Formats

  4. Tap Most Compatible

Note: Images that have been saved as HEIC must be converted to JPEG or JPG before they can be used in legacy versions of Palmtech. Several online websites and apps can be used to convert the images for use.
